This study focuses on the place of women in his exegesis, both Old and New Testament, comparing it with that of his predecessors, especially Augustine, Chrysostom and the Ambrosiaster, and her contemporaries, Luther, Bullinger, Musculus and Pierre Martyr Vermigli.
