Résumé

Hunter S. Thompson was a monstrous writer and book-loving hillbilly who rewrote the literary rules of his homeland. His work and life fascinate and inspire beyond the shores of the United States. "Gonzo" tells the story of French cartoonist Morgan Navarro’s pilgrimage to discover Thompson’s America: the places that the writer knew and the people who knew him. Joined by his radio correspondent friend, Navarro sets off on a road trip worthy of Thompson himself. From Kentucky to the Colorado Rockies, from Las Vegas to L.A. and San Francisco, America is revealed in all its excesses and charms. Yet like any pilgrimage, the journey ends up leading to the heart of the pilgrim.
