Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin, known as the "Unknown Philosopher" (1743 -1803) (21 vendémiaire an XII), is a French philosopher who belongs to the illuminist movement in the history of ideas.
L'homme de désir is a major work of the Illuminists. It is designed to touch the reader's heart, the true sanctuary of the Inner Temple, and to rekindle their desire for union with the Divine.
