EXTRAIT
To the Minotaur’s Reflection
Intoxicating breath,
your animal quiet,
a dancing in the ear,
the broken-minded image
screams.
Labyrinthine steps
in this consciousness.
A natural exile
for a beast with no country.
This the unthought known,
the acrobat’s instinct,
the innocence of language lost.
Remember the sacrifice at the heart of man.
In the belly of the beast the ceremony begins,
the hidden sin trembles, the sword’s fury.
Do I see your image in the laughing mirror?
Language reflects.
